When Corporate Home Unit Underwriting Agencies Pty - CHU - started trading from a terrace house in 1978, it eventually sold it’s first policy for $439.45 in early 1979.
Its two founding partners created the very first strata insurance plan in Australia and was one of the first, if not only, to pay insurance claims within a few days. Today, more than 30 years on, CHU has grown to become Australia’s largest strata insurance specialist underwriting agency, with more than 100,000 policies and offices in five States as well as operations in the US, UAE and UK.
But success didn’t happen overnight or by chance. CHU has relied on long standing support from many in the industry and has in turn fostered active partnerships with managers, brokers, suppliers and organisations throughout Australia that represent the longer term interests of the industry.
