A recent survey conducted by Mindahome, a house and pet-sitting business, demonstrates that Australia is a country of animal lovers.
The majority of pet owners – 76 per cent in total – admit that when they go on holiday, they think about their pet “at least once a day”.
A further 30 per cent state they think about their pet “more than twice a day” when they go on holiday.
The survey also reveals that 24 per cent and 23 per cent of pet owners, respectively, “would do anything for their pet” and think of their pet as “their best friend”.
In addition to this, 49 per cent claim that they are “very close to their pet” and a whopping 67 per cent say they consider their pet as a “human member of the family”.
Australians are also guilty of talking, watching TV and sleeping with their pets.
These are just pet owners – chances are if you work in the pet industry, you are even more dedicated to the cause.
