We Did It! Doubling Up for the Doc and Delivering Real Impact

On Wednesday 5 March, something incredible happened. Thanks to the generosity of supporters and partner organisations, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (SA/NT) raised an outstanding $500,000 in just 12 hours during Double Up for the Doc Day — smashing the fundraising target and making a life-saving difference for remote communities.

As proud long-term supporters of the RFDS, the MGA Whittles Group of Companies was honoured to be one of three matching partners, contributing a combined $120,000 in matched donations. Every dollar donated on the day went twice as far — helping fund essential medical equipment like ventilators, monitors, and life support systems for a brand-new aircraft in the Flying Doctor fleet.

Standing by Rural and Remote Communities

Every 20 minutes, someone in South Australia or the Northern Territory is helped by the RFDS. Whether it’s emergency evacuations, primary healthcare, or critical treatments, their work is a lifeline for those living far from hospital care.

That’s why we continue to stand with them — supporting not just the service, but the people and communities who rely on it.

Your Support Took It Further

The success of this campaign was powered by the community. Individuals, businesses, and supporters from across the country rallied together to make a lasting impact — and the MGA Whittles Group of Companies is proud to have played a part in that outcome. The funds raised will now go directly towards fitting out a new aeromedical aircraft, ensuring it’s equipped to respond when every second counts.

MGA Whittles Group of Companies: Proud to Give Back

At MGA Insurance Group, we believe in protecting what matters most — and that goes beyond insurance. Through the MGA Whittles Community Foundation, we’re committed to backing causes that create real change, especially for those in rural and regional areas.

To the RFDS team: thank you for everything you do. And to every person who donated — thank you for doubling up with us. Because of you, we did it.
