Celebrating Community at the 2025 Citizen of the Year Awards

At MGA Insurance Group, we believe in recognising the people and events that bring our communities to life. That’s why we were proud to support the 2025 Citizen of the Year Awards, an annual celebration of the individuals and organisations making a real difference across South Australia.

Honouring Creativity and Connection

This year, Paul George, Managing Director of MGA Insurance Group, had the honour of presenting South Australia’s Community Event of the Year Award to the Barmera Theatre Gallery – Yarn Bombers. Through vibrant public art installations and a spirit of collaboration, this creative group has turned yarn into a powerful symbol of community connection, culture, and pride.

Their work is a testament to the positive impact that local events and grassroots initiatives can have in strengthening community bonds and encouraging participation.

Recognising Remarkable Contributions

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners who were recognised at this year’s awards. From volunteers and organisers to local heroes and advocates, your contributions continue to inspire those around you. Your commitment to making our towns and cities better places to live is what drives meaningful change — and at MGA, we are proud to stand behind that mission.

Community at Our Core

Supporting the Citizen of the Year Awards is just one of the many ways MGA Insurance Group stays connected to the communities we serve. Whether through sponsorships, local partnerships, or tailored insurance solutions, we’re committed to protecting what matters most — people, passions, and purpose.
